It's been awhile. My husband and I used to sit in Waterloo Ice House and listen to the three of you (walt and Champ) with tears in our eyes. Many times there was only 5 of us in the audience on a cold rainy night and we left every show wondering why? You blessed our hearts and our lives. I was in law school at the time and my husband forced men to come down on Friday nights and get away from the law books because he knew you would waltz me away with Texas Echo. I am so grateful he did. When Walter died we both felt like we lost a member of the family. The next year my young husband was killed in a freak accident as well. Then, a few years later Champ. It's been a long long road. We rarely missed a show and it took a long time to be able to listen to you again. Those were the happiest years of our our 23 year marriage. The first time we sat in the booth at Waterloo, after the first song we both turned to each other with tears in our eyes and said, "We found home." I feel like I have been home since then even though I have never moved. I still shake my head every single time I listen to one of your songs and wonder why in the heck you are not a household name. You have to go down in the Songwriter Hall of fame as the most incredible songwriter of all time! Thank you for the memories. I know many of those ill attended nights were disappointment but my how you changed lives even if you lost money! (We gave you all we could afford to try to offset that.) Thank you for sharing your soul, your heart and your life with us. Uncle Walt's Band was the soundtrack that our daughter grew up to. No one before and no one since has ever affected me like you. (With the singular exception of possible Elvis!) I cherish the memories of those days but I am so glad that you have endured and created so many amazing songs, I can't find one I don't like Nobody puts a smile on my face and a tear in my eye like you.

Thank you David for sure a wonderful video/song, "When the Thought of you Catches up to Me" I love the 66 oldsmobile, as I used to own one similar years ago, I enjoy the video as I watched it numerous times and learned how to sing karaoke to this song at our bars and under karaoke-guy as the memebers loved this song, and the ones that haven't heard it took the time to flag it :-) Great job David on this great country song, done so well, as I'm here in San Angelo, Texas Wayne Williams :-)

Thank you for your song, Riding w/ Private Malone. 2001, I graduated high school & being an Army brat I've always appreciated any tribute to our brave service members. In 2011, I married the most wonderful, selfless Air Force man(his birthday is July 4th) who has served over 21 years & counting. Since 9/11 he has deployed many, many times overseas & I've always thanked God he arrives home safe in my arms every time!
Recently my Grandfather passed away. He was a dairy farmer most of his life among other things to provide for his family of 10. He never got the opportunity to serve because he was needed to work his milk delivery job here in Ohio. Him & my Grandmas farm w/ their red barn has been a wonderful place to go while growing up & even still today. The other night I had a dream about that big red barn & a hypothetical vintage car cared for by my Grandma, which sparked the love I have for the Private Malone music video. Thanks again for sharing your gift of song with the world & supporting our troops!
